“What the New Year brings to you will depend a great deal on what you bring to the New Year.” — Vern McLellan

Hi, my beautiful Tekwomen!

You may have noticed that I have been away for some time. I have had a few life events take place during the last couple of months, which took me away from blogging; however, I am back and ready to take on the year. I hope you all are too! I wanted to give background on the exciting things that have happened over the past couple of months. I also wanted to bring you up-to-speed on topics I have been working on for our blog!

So... I GRADUATED!!! Yes, I finished my Master's degree; this was a significant milestone for me. I obtained a Master of Science in Health Informatics from the USF Morsani College of Medicine. I am so grateful and humbled to have had the opportunity to be a student of this program provided by one of the top-tier medical schools in the country! I am so thankful to all my loved ones, friends, and colleagues who supported me along the way and I am beyond proud to be a USF Bull. If you are interested in pursuing a Master's degree in Health Informatics, I highly recommend looking into the USF Health Informatics program. I spent a lot of time and sleepless nights researching programs in this area, and I am so happy I chose USF in the end. If you are interested in learning more, please visit their website.

As a result of finishing my degree (and finally having more time on my hands), I decided to adopt a beautiful puppy! His name is Rafi, and he is now six months old! He is simply too adorable and has a ton of energy, which keeps me super busy.

You will most likely see him in my future videos or posts.

Lastly, I started a fantastic new job! I am super excited about this new chapter in my professional career and beyond proud of how my career has progressed throughout the years. Hard work pays off. Speaking of hard work, I have also used this time to take a much-needed break from EVERYTHING and just relax! Sometimes as women, we forget to put our physical, mental, and spiritual health first. Its good to sit back, relax and appreciate all of the lessons learned, achievements and memories made.

So what are my Tekwomen plans for 2020? As always, I plan to continue featuring women who are doing amazing work in tech. I also plan to produce educational material and provide you all with more information and resources to help you fulfill your technical curiosity or professional aspirations. I, too, expect to challenge myself and learn more through this platform. We will be learning, growing, and becoming better together!

Ready for all that 2020 has to offer? Let's do this!
